Investing in Darrara Community Centre

We’re delighted to share some recent improvements at Darrara Community Centre, helping us continue to provide a welcoming, safe and well-equipped facility for everyone who uses the centre.

With the support of Cork County Council’s Amenity Grant, we have recently invested in a number of practical improvements throughout the building:

• 🏋️ 6 new gym mats for the free weights area
• 🪟 New window shutters at the stage in the main hall
• 💧 New filtered water dispenser and filtration system, providing clean, fresh drinking water
• 🤝 New handrail at the stage, improving safety and accessibility
• 🚻 4 new stainless-steel toilet roll dispensers

The total cost of these improvements was €4,995, with €3,000 funded by Cork County Council through the Amenity Grant.

For a voluntary community centre, grant support like this makes a real difference. It allows us to keep improving the building, replacing and upgrading facilities and making Darrara Community Centre a better space for the many local groups, families and individuals who use it.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cork County Council and our local councillors for their continued support.

A big thank you also goes to everyone on our voluntary committee who gave their time to source, organise and install the various improvements. Much of the work that goes into maintaining and developing a community facility happens quietly behind the scenes, and we are very grateful to everyone who contributes.
